Well I've worn the belt clip (the model for the rubberized skin) for a month now and have come up w/ some observations.

When wearing my Carhartt coat it is very difficult to get the phone popped into the case with any degree of confidence. My goal is to holster the phone without having to stop what I'm doing and having to look to make sure it is properly seated. This is one short coming I do not care for.

Second, when removing coat or unzipping and reaching for jean pockets all the activity the phone popped out of the clip. Not once but twice within an hour as I was walking the dogs. Once while preparing for the walk and the second time as I was undressing afterwards.

this leads to my conclusion for suggestions that may help improve retention of the phone. First the phone does not sit flush in the cradle but has about a 2/32" clearance from full seating. Second the upper clip lacks what I perceive to be full engagement of the top portion of the phone. I would recommend the upper spring load portion to have about 4-5 mm more overlap, even if it covers the flash of the camera. At this point it would have more phone surface area grip. third the lower portion of the saddle that has the corners in which the phone sits can stand to be a bit taller say another 4-6 mm and the area around the ear jack can be accommodated accordingly.

Anyway, The case as is work fine if you dress in slacks and shirt and have a office type style. I work in an industrial area (electrical generation) and wear heavy bulky coats, climb around equipment and items attached to my belt get "challenged".

So that's my feedback for the clip. I have no expectations that Seidio will rework it model based on one feedback. I do hope that other users out there can maybe share a link to a alternative belt retention device that I can use and maybe still keep the rubberized case. IT saved my Pearl twice today! yikes..

Two excellent observations.

I too have had to stop what I am doing to make sure the Pearl if properly seated in the rubberized case holster.

Because the phone properly fits only one way into the holster, to where it is firmly seated, I am always looking down at it to make sure it is in right. I don't like having to do that.

I don't know that there is a fix for this because it does fit well as designed. A mod to make it easier to holster the phone will result in it not being firmly locked in place.

As to the phone popping out of the holster, I have not had that happen although I have had the entire thing pop off my belts [holster and phone]. But that has happened to all my cases and holsters albeit the Seidio holster seems to have a better grip on the belt than others.

My fix for that is to have a camera lanyard with a clip that attaches to my belt. This has prevented the phone from falling to the ground when the thing decides to do a gravity test.

Bottom line: I don't know that there are any fixes to these issues. If they made the holster hold the phone firmer then it's going to be even harder to insert the Pearl into it. Besides, if properly seated it seems to take quite a bit of force to make the phone pop out of the holster, at least IMHO.

One thing you might try is to figure out in what position the holster is best to prevent the phone from popping out. For me I discovered it was only when bending in certain ways that caused the holster to pop off [such as getting into a car].

I experimented and determined that the best position for the Seidio holster was sideways [horizontal] and off to the side of the waist [as close to my P226R as possible].

until they move the location of the clip so it doesn't sit so high i will pass. any update on a redesign seidio?
