Default Is your battery dead? Try this ASAP!

Please Login to Remove!

A buddy of mine just told me that if you hit *3370# when your battery is dead your cell will activate the reserve power and you will have half battery.

Then with your next charging the reserve will be replenished.

Someone try it so I can win this bet lol

I saw that in an email one time. With a little thought I figured that even if it did work it would cause some damage. My guess was that it disables the low-voltage cutoff on the lith-poly cell so you can deplete it below its critical voltage. (for those ordinary folks - it depletes the battery to the point where it cant be recharged)

Its an old code used for nokia to switch from enhanced full rate to half rate. Half rate uses marginaly less power because there is less data to encode into the GSM timeslot, and less data to process to generate the FER. You still use one timeslot so there's no RF power reduction.

Bottom line, it wont do anything on the BB. It may be a geniune mix up somewhere along the line because the code exists for nokia, but most likely its just a something someone made up to look clever.
