Default TMO 8100 won't update w/ cingular software

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to update the software on my TMO 8100 and for some reason the whole process fails right when the computer tries to access the device ROM. I did delete the vendor.xml file from the AppLoader directory but still no luck. The error I was getting is:

Code:
Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001]
Any suggestions?

Default Looks like a hardware problem on a memory address.

I had the same issue last night. Use javaloader to wipe it to the 507 error (which is what you should get with the error above) and then try again through Application Loader (on the detect screen, just choose USB and click Next).

Thanks, I'll give that a go. I'm not overly familiar with the software as all my computers run linux and I've just now had the time to load it on the girlfriend's computer.

Download and install JL_CMDER (hint: it's in my signature) ;) Use the wipe handheld feature in that program. Make sure that Desktop manager is not running when you do this. When it's done the handheld will display a 507 error. When it says that close JL_CMDER and run desktop manager and follow jibi's instructions above. That should get you going.
