Default 8700 to 8100 Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Well ... company just sent me a Pearl to use. Being a past 7290 user, then 8700c, now onto a 8100 Pearl (Cingular), I have to say the sound on the 8100 is excellenet over what I was getting on my 8700c.

Having I been not realizing how bad the sound was on my 8700c, or did I just have a bad device? The Pearl sounds lovely. My 8700c was also dropping calls very frequently I started to think it dropped everytime and email came in while I was talking. Was there a known issue on that regards?

My real point, I was going to say, is that even though the Pearl is nice, I might switch back to my 8700c cause I really missing my QWERTY board and big screen.

Now I see the 8800 !!! That's the baby I want to move onto!

I switched back to my 8700C about 5 days ago. 60+ emails to answer in the field and the SureType was NOT growing on me. I could not believe how nice it was to have the QWERTY keyboard and the wheel back.

Will stick with the 8700 till the 8800 comes out at the first of the year. I can give up the wheel but I will never give up QWERTY again!

There's definately two (at least) types of BB users. There's the "PDA user who wants phone abilities" and then "Cell phone user who wants some PDA abilities".

I would say we're the "PDA users ..."

Smile Long Live QWERTY

It is very hard for me to understand how any 8700 user could switch back to a device without the shortcuts that the 8700 provides. The 7130c and 8100 are just to inconvenient to use ( especialy while driving) without shortcuts.

Not to many folks seem to be bothered by the smaller screen size. That's strange too, because Internet viewing is so better on the 8700. For example when viewing local "zoom radar" the city or town display on the 7130 and 8100 cannot be read, while the 8700 displays them clearly.

I hope the 8800 lives up to all the hype. It has a tough act to follow.

I agree PDA users fit nicely with the qwerty's
