Default Videos don't play!

I bought a memory card and tried to put a couple .avi files on the memory card. It transfers to the phone but when I play it says Error. I even tried converting them to 3gp files and it still does it.

I just drag the files to the video folder in the F: Drive. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you converted them to work on the 8100??

There is a sticky thread at the top of this forum that shows you how to convert them.

I believe the thread is a sticky about what types of files will play on the 8100 and its only a select few that play correct right now. super C is the best free converter I think and very easy to use..

You have to format/convert the videos to play on the Pearl.

Look at my thread that discusses and recommends the $15 BlackBerry Video Generator program.

Most members in here will not tell you about it because it uses a freeware program [mencoder] to convert the videos and they won't pay $15 for the program.

But for $15 all you have to do is install the program and it's two clicks to converting most any video, including flv, flash, avi, mov, DVD's, or mpeg. Does NOT convert Windows WMV files. And you avoid having to teach yourself how to use mencoder or Super C.

Makayama doesn't work for me either, I wrote them an email - no reply. The Video creator by Seabyrd tech works fine though
