I believe it can be inserted either way since there's a groove for the trackball on each side.

Got my case yesterday - first, great service from the 'Cat.

The case is awesome - fits great on the belt and high quality. I know I like it because it passed the "I forgot I'm wearing it" test today.

I compared the BB OEM case to the Tmobile case.

Here's my conclusion:

BB OEM Advantages
-Trackball indentation on both the front and back so the phone can be inserted either way.
- Nicer leather, IMO
- Rotating belt clip allows vertical or horizontal wearing

BB OEM Disadvantages
- Phone fits very snug. They obviously did this because the belt clip allows horizontal wearing. Problem is that you need two hands to remove the phone (for sure when the case is new)
- Phone and OEM skin are a tough fit in this case. Good luck getting it out of the case before your call goes to voicemail.
- Less protection for top of phone

TMobile Advantages
- Phone alone can be easily removed from case with one hand
- Phone and OEM skin will fit together. Not super easy to remove phone, but way easier than the BB case.
- Better protection. Top of phone is better protected.

TMobile disadvantages
- No rotating belt clip
- Pleather is so-so looking
- No indent for trackball.

BTW, the flap magnets seem to be about the same on both cases.

Chinesecatt,

Any chance you'll be supplying the upcoming BB Leather Pocket? I've seen a few sites pre-ordering it for $15.95. BBStore shows it avail Dec 14th.

Thanks.

Any concern that the snug OEM case can cause scratches on the screen (taking it out and putting it in)?

(Or am I neurotic?) lol

The case is SUPER snug. I broke it in a little overnight by leaving a smaller TV remote control in the case Definitely starting to loosen up.

I had many cases and never scratched up a screen or the phone body itself. There is a pretty soft material inside, so no worries.

I will be carrying this as well. They won't be arriving until January 2007.

I don't do pre-order because there is always HUGE chance that it doesn't arrive on the expected date. So for anybody who is interested in this, do not ask to pay me ahead. I have received a few pre-orders on the Black Skin but they have moved the shippinng on that one until 3rd week of December. So please no pre-orders

So here's my pricing... FOR BBF MEMBERS ONLY

OEM BlackBerry Leather Pocket Case Black

Chinesecatt,

Fantastic, quite a deal!

Here's a newb question (how many do I get?)... I didn't see it on the posts I scanned, how do I order from you?

I tried to PM you, but you are too popular and your inbox is full.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response.

I did end up pick up one of these puppies here in the great white north. Gonna start using today.

(Maybe I will finally leave home with my Pearl!) lol.

One thing weird I noticed about the sleeper mode...as I slide the phone in, the screen turns off, then back on and finally turns off when full inserted in the case. Anyone notice this? Extra wear and tear on the phone?

Both Pearls I recently bought do the same thing. And they do it with both the OEM and TMobile case.

Actually the sleeper mode happens when it hit the magnet in the lower part of the holster. This goes with all the OEM BlackBerry Holsters and Totes, so nothing really new about it. The first time where the screen turns off, is when it hits the magnet for the flap cover. Nothing out of the ordinary.

chinesecatt,

I received the case late this week and its perfect. I even noticed that the case has a groove inside so that the "Pearl" wont be pushed in while inside the case.

Thank you

I got my 8100c this past week and have been searching for a good case.
I first went to Cingular store and none of the three nearby stores had it. All of three recommended me to use their RAZR case. I actually bought one but it was too tight and I feared damaging the trackball so I returned it. Did Cingular sent an internal memo to store and told them to sell RAZR case for 8100c?
I read here that T-Mobile SDA case was good but I went to SIX T-Mobile stores nearby and none had the SDA case.
I ended up giving up and just sent a message to chinesecatt to order the case from her...

I got the SDA case since I wanted a horizontal case, and I am *very* satisfied.
