Default BES reply-to address

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I am using a blackbery 7290 with BES 4.0 and exchange 2003. I've searched the forums and havn't been able to find this answer clearly. Is there a way to set the reply-to address on the blackberry for all outgoing emails when you use BES for exchange?

The closest I've come was with the 3rd party software that will allow you to do this but only if you use the webclient.

TIA!

Unfortunately no. This can be set within IT Policies, but that must be done by your BES admin.

My mistake, you actually can't set one through policy. I was thinking of the server admin addy you can manually set if you like.

Wouldn't the override checkbox in the user properties handle that? The default outgoing address is the same default address used by Outlook. You could always change your primary address in Active Directory Users & Computers.

You are right, it does exactly that. The other option is to add the e-mail address to the user's exchange account and set that new address as the primary. These other guys....they know nothing!

In the Desktop Manager, under the advanced tab, you have the option called "Override address" Check that box and insert the new "reply to" address...if you are a besadmin, and you want to make that change albeit a bit more permanent, you would set the primary e-mail address for that user to the address you want it to show as the "reply to" in an e-mail...the users primary address is then that address. This is done in the active directory under the e-mail address tab...

The user can always override that address by doing what I just described at the top of this post.

I didn't think BES was capable of multiple reply-to...I thought that was a prob with BWC and BES...

Apparently it doesn't work. I have chosen to override the addres with another one. The emails send from the BB still shows up as the primary address of the exchange account. Am I missing something?

can anyone confirm whether this works? I've tried changing the override address on BES 4.0 and it doesn't seem to work. Is there anything special that needs to be done?
