Default HELP! No BIS option on initial setup

Please Login to Remove!

Hello....just got my Pearl today. When I run the Setup Wizard, the device does not give me an option for BIS only for BES. I am not connecting my BB to a BES. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Are you on a data plan? If so just go into your menu and go to email settings. You can set it all up from there.

Had the same problem. Did you activat your BB data plan to your account? You might also have to enter in your PIN & IMEI to activate the device on your BIS account.

I have the same problem too. I can't access my BIS. And when I try to set it up over the browser, I get an error setting up my user ID and password.

Cingular? Dial 800-304-3044, this will get you STRAIGHT to the data support team (Blackberries, PDAs, etc). They can help fix the problem you are having with the website and get you going.

Yup Cingular.

Awesome, I'll call them tomorrow morning when they're open. Thanks

I'm also getting "data connection refused".

I get the exact same error on one of the Pearls I am trying to set up. All others worked fine. I called Vodafone UK and they cannot understand why this is happening. Only solution to me looks like a handset swap unless somebody else has any ideas

Did you get your Internet Browser okay? I'm on the phone for the 2nd time tonight to get services books and browser pushed.

I had to call the first time to get my BBRYBISUNL set up even though it should have been there from the original online order.

Switching from my ATTW 7290 has gone good so far.

....Done!

Steve

The data CSR I talked to tonight said the 800-304-3044 is to be discontinued by the end of the year. He said to use 800-331-0500, which is the normal CSR number. (sigh)

Hopefully we'll get a new direct number soon after!

Until then!

Steve
