Default Moving Application Shortcuts

Please Login to Remove!

I just moved from a BB 8700 and am trying to figure out how to move certain applications in and out of the "Applications" folder?

Thanks!

Can you be a little more specific? What files are you trying to move and where do you want to move them to?

Welcome to the Pearl...

Welcome to the Pearl...
The Blackberry Messenger is under the 'Applications' folder...want to move it out to the main screen and a few other applications INTO that folder.

(Also, what is the deal with not being able to add contacts to the BB Messenger by PIN anymore - with the version on the Pearl anyhow...I am having to have everyone else send their requests to me)

You can't move icons from the folder they are in. You'll need to choose another theme.

When adding contacts to BBMessenger when you highlight the name from your address book press the menu button. It will then give you the option to choose PIN or email. If I select "use once" mine only gives the option to email. I usually add the pin to my address book then select out of my address book.

Wirelessly posted (Mandizzle's Pearl: BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107)

For PIN it always just asks for contacts email but I'm able to enter the pin number there and its worked just fine.

I went ahead and tried entering the PIN there anyways, and it "appears" to work and sends the request, but the users on the other end never get the request for some reason.

Sure you cannot do this? Its really causing an annoyance...all my least used apps are on the main screen and my heavily used apps (like BB Messenger) are in the App folder

It's hidden...

Go into BB Messenger then menu/add contact. Now go up to [Use Once] but don't click on it. Instead click menu and then select 'Request by PIN...'

The main screen shows your top 5 apps. Click on menu and then scroll all the way down to 'Organize Apps' and click it. From here you can move whatever apps you want up to the top of the list and the home screen will show the first 5 on your list.

No....you can't do it. Those folders are set by theme. You can move them around in the folder, you can hide them but you can't move them to another folder. You have to find a theme that has that stuff where you want it.

If you are using a Zen theme, then, yes, you can move the most used to one of the first 5 and they'll show up on the home screen.

Thanks...where is this particular menu?

When I click on MENU on the home screen, I only get these options (move application, hide application, show all & switch application)

What theme are you running? I'm running the T-Mobile ZEN.

It is NOT possible to move apps from one folder to another. It never has been. If they are in the Application folder, they will stay there. You can move them within the folder and hide/show them but you can't move them to another folder.

You need to change themes if you want something different.

Well that stinks...wondering why it places these Apps in different places then on my 8700c...why would that be? Same theme too...

I"m wondering the same thing too. All the applications that used to install in the applications folder on my 8700C are now installing on the home screen when I use the default profile for cingular...not how it worked on the 8700.

Has anyone figured out how to get program links to install to the applicaiton folder, is there a setting somewhere or can thos be moved?
