Well, no stores in the Hartford, CT area has it. Cingular did say that only "select stores" would have it today. I would not be surprised if none did. And then, talking to CSR (who, as always have no clue) further, i got:
-It is not in our warehouse yet, which means it will take at least a week, no less.
-We get only one shipment a week and that was yesterday, so...
-We get a shipment every day, so check back tomorrow
-Sometime before Christmas
-We have no idea...

Someone on this thread said he got one last night from a store... Where????

Yeah no one near me has them either. They think the middle of next week. I went ahead and just ordered online last night. I feel much better now that I have one ordered. Can't wait!

HUH? I asked a reasonable question and that was your intelligent answer? Maybe it explains why you are so excited about a phone with already dated technology.

Default Just got a 8100 in Pittsburgh

I just purchased an 8100 at the Cingular Store in Pittsburgh. I stopped in on my way to work this morning and they had just unpacked them. I may be the first person in Pgh with a Pearl. And the ALT key is spelled out.

Hope you all find one in your respective cities.

The Bad News is I have no impulse control today....

The Good News is my Cingular Dealer is holding my Pearl, until I return from a business trip later this afternoon to pick it up ......

well, because we won't look like we are talking to a large piece of toast anymore. To many, that's well worth the non-3 G technology (which many people might not care for anyway...).

Hey..... thanks for the laughs... a large piece of toast........

That's a good one! And you solved my problem that I really did'nt want to ask here.

Oh....uh.....duh..... Why is it that everytime I use my 8700c I end up with a bit of butter on my ear?......

Friday humor, can't be beat....................

The 7130c already accomplished that. I guess I am just missing all the excitment for the Pearl unless you really need a camera and MP3 on your phone.

And the Pearl takes your point one step further. However, I feel that its contributions are the trackball, form factor, keyboard, micro SD (untapped potential for other than songs and vids) and the fluff you mentioned. I couldn't go back to my 7105t.

Now that the Cingular Pearl is out I am sure someone would like their Pearl unlocked for free. This only applies to the first person to PM me with their IMEI number. Everyone else can go to my site

Ordered one through Cingular's business line a few hours ago. With my company's plan, got it for $179 + shipping. Should get it on Monday.

I'm going to try the $50 rebate too

Welcome to the Forum......

You are 100% correct, the 7130c is indeed a great BlackBerry. In addition, I agree with your statement regarding the camera, and media player.

My 7130c is my "main BB" at the present time. It get's lot's of usage, especially in the phone and email departments.

That said, I got the new Cingular Pearl just to "try it". I have no need for the camera or media player. However that said, I can see the possibility of this being a good BB for the "weekend" when I want something as small as possible.

In addition, there are some members of this forum that say the keyboard is very usefull. I want to see how it works for me.

So time will tell.
