Disabled phone call logging, but still logging

BES 4.1 SP2
I disabled the phone call logging in the global PIM Sync settings by setting "Disable Phone Call Log Wireless Sync" = true. (default is false I believe).
However, the phone calls keep on getting logged in the BES logs. Weird thing is I cannot find my phone calls in there, but everyone else's phone calls are in the log.... is there some setting on the devices that can override this setting set on the server?
