I think you're referring to an extended warrenty coverage sometimes offered through authorized dealers locations for a specific wireless carrier. You would have to ask your local dealer what the eligibility requirements are to have the warrenty honored, such as paying a damage deposit, etc.

If you purchase the insurance through T-Mobile, it is $110.

the $5.00 is the premium per month. The $110.00 is the deductible they charge you if you file a claim for a new unit.

Yeah, and its not worth it. I'd rather buy a new one, and usually if you complain enough, you can probably get a better deal than retail from them.

Insurance on a phone / device is SO high because of all the rip offs that go on. Just read these forums and you will see people who brag about how they busted up their phone, called carrier, came up with a bogus excuse, got new device....
Insurance fraud is why we all pay HIGH premiums... Phone, auto, home.....

Generally, IMHO, insurance on a phone isn't worth it. If you bust it up you are going to want the newer model anyway. The high deductibles just arent worth it. I'm with Lunkhead, I get tired of reading on here about how people are going to rip off their carrier because they dropped their BB or did something else to it that was totally their fault. Those are the dishonest people trying to save a buck but losing all their integrity in the process. And they lighten all of our wallets in the process (including their own-they just don't realize it!)

Don't worry John Clark my buds girl works as a supervisor at tha tmo call center on" Rt. 22 ". And she told us the blackberry Only costs 35 bucks to make give or take where they gotta ship it to. So I wouldn't worry bout your cost going up any with a 110.00 deductible there makin money.

Does anyone else have any experience w/ safeware.com? Are they legitimate? Does it cover everything? If something happens do they get you a new phone or do they cut you a check?
