Our environment is BES 4.1.1.9, Exchange 2003, and InterAction (CRM). We are in the process of upgrading our 3.7 users to 4.1. We load the FW onto the units wo backing up the data so the device is clean. We then do an Enterprise activation. The user no longer uses the desktop software and is completely wireless. Sometimes we get reports of users having duplicate contacts in their Outlook and Blackberry. Has anyone seen this or know what is causing this?

I see you are using Interaction... I have seen at times with an earlier version of BES (Previous to 4.0 SP4) in which if you edit a contact on the Blackberry and then sync your contacts with Interaction a duplicate contact will be created. I have not experienced this on BES 4.1. We were able to duplicate that issue without failure. There is possibly a chance that users are noticing this now but have had some duplicates for a while.

We had a somewhat similar problem with dupe contacts. Were you previously using the desktop manager to synch the address book? When switching from the desktop synching to wireless synching I would highly recommend doing a final desktop synch and then wiping the address book on the handheld before enabling wireless synch.

If you are synching more than the main contacts folder in Outlook, when switching to the wireless synch these contacts are probably being dumped back into the main Contacts folder from the blackberry, causing the duplication.

Ive got exactly the same problem. Has anyone found a fix for this. There doesn't seem to be the same option as in email where if you delete email it deletes on the device. Contacts just seem to keep growing and growing. If I delete my outlook contacts entirely the replace back from the device. Surely there must be a setting for this.
