Default AOL IM - WebMessenger?

Please Login to Remove!

DO i want the RIM J2ME software from their site? Also, i am on a corporate BES. Am i assured that this software will work for all of my AIM needs? (i.e., they havent disabled a feature that would limit the use)

Yes, the RIM J2ME is the correct version for WebMessenger. Yes, this software works. Some people have reported some unreliability at times. There is a free trial so you can see how well it works for you;

Other instant messaging software that works includes IM+ (generic midlet) and a couple of others, but WebMessenger is still one of the better ones assuming you have a reliable MDS service.

I'm a new user...just got it yesterday...

I downloaded webmessenger, and installed it. Seems to connect well when I have service, but I get alot of errors from AOL...too may messages or something like that. It's still a nice little program, and if I can get it working well this week on the road, I'd rather purchase than get the freebies. I feel if we purchase the products, development money will get us improvements in the future...anyways...just my 2 cents.

I have been using webmessenger for a few months. When it works...it works really well.

Since there is really nothing else out there for AIM I guess we are kinda stuck. I saw in the 7100 thread about a company named OZ that is the company used for the IM client for the 7100. Anyone think that they will come out with a client for the other BB devices?

Jeff

You can try to install IM+ and other chat software onto your BlackBerry by entering this web address into your Blackberry and then clicking on the .jad files on your BlackBerry to get them installed on your Blackberry:

The 7510 is not capable of OTAD. Do you know if this capability will come with Nextel uppin to 4.0.

Probably.

In the meantime, you might want to ask headtailgrep to repost his instructions on how to convert .jad/.jar files to .cod files that can be installed using javaloader.exe over your USB cable ... (Complicated instructions...)
