Wirelessly posted (NXTL7520: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7520/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

You might be able to achieve this with a utility call 'firedaemon'. If anyones successful, post a reply here!

I hate having the BlackBerry desktop manager start unless I tell it to! Why bother? Do you use a sync feature on it? Now the only time I run Desktop Manager is if am doing a backup...

Another way to not have it show, i.e. running but not in the systry would be to change it's startup option in msconfig...

I want it to run and I want it to sync when I connect it. What I don't want is on my system start up the desktop manager is open and then I have to minimize it to the tray. Or when I plug my phone in desktop manager desktop manager opens up. I'm used to activesync doing everything in th background and I'm trying to accomplish that.

Default At least no crashes

While I have no ideas how to help you, I have mine in my Startup folder and simply minimize it, at least it doesn't crash in the background either like activestink does. I ended up formatting a hard drive because of activesync and it will be a cold day you know where before it gets near my computer again.

It's easy

Click Start, go to Programs, then in the Startup menu right-click the Desktop Manager shortcut and choose Properties. Click the dropdown where it says Run: and choose Minimized from the list and hit OK. The next time you reboot, Desktop Manager will start as a tray icon.
