I am using a 7290 on cigular's network and have no problems with PocketDay. Weather and stocks all work fine. The only thing I have to do is to log into by BES browser to get data. I can not just use the WAP connection (or at least I don't know how to set it up). Could be this is your problem. I am on 3.8 by the way with 4.0 desktop and all works well.

Hi tirsch

Your program is a nice manager. Thanks.

I have a TMO 7230 running 4.0. I noticed that even though I have it set the option to boot on PD, it doesn't. So I set it to switch to PD after 3 minutes, it doesn't. I tried ALT+CAP+DEL, but still no change. Am I doing something incorrect? I mean its no big-deal, just features I can't use.

Learner,

How did you install PD? There should be an app called PDUtils on your BB running. That's what controls the auto-load and the standby functionality.

Check that please.

Learner, is PDUtils the same version # as PocketDay (ie. 1.54) They need to be in sync. I have a 7230 from T-Mobile with OS4 and no issue. Can you re-install using the desktop manager?

Hi Mark,

The PDUtils is v1.52. Certainly, I'll reinstall from desktop. I'm at my office so will have to wait until I get home this afternoon. What is the latest version?

Hi Mark

Ok, from your site, theversion for PocketDay is 1.54, while the version for PDUtils is 1.52. Where can I get version 1.54 of PDUtils? Thanks.

By the way, I both downloaded and OTA from the current site.

I'll download the 4.0 tomorrow. I don't think I downloaded the Utilities file, where do I locate the files to download OTA.

Thanks

Default PocketDay 1.56 released

PocketDay 1.56 interim release now available...www.crossriversystems.com/PocketDayBB.htm

Updates:

• Enhanced the Title bar to recognize the BB Date and Time format settings (the date format is set in the PocketDay Settings)
• More efficient program load process
• Month view is a bit faster
• Compressed the Summary screen lines a small bit so you can see both the stocks and the current weather conditions.
• Corrected a problem with the Copy Task Function
• Removed the Hide option from the menu (use new setting below)
• Changed Stock quotes to NOT try and get Quotes on Saturday or Sunday.
• Color coded the quotes (Blue is up and Red is Down)
• Rearranged the Weather a bit
• Made the ESC key take you back to the Blackberry Home screen without exiting PocketDay. To Exit PocketDay, select Exit from the menu. Set this option in the PocketDay settings.

I've always deleted previous versions before installing new ones. Is this preferred/necessary?

Default "123" or "ABC" in upper right corner

I'm running the trial for PocketDay on a 7100 and there's always the "123" or "ABC" symbol in the upper right corner. It usually wouldn't be such a big deal but it blocks the signal meter and battery meter. I just installed the newest version, but it didn't fix it. I saw that there was an earlier post in this thread about it, but there was no response...any ideas?

Nice app, though....thanks for any replies....

I updated my desktop and BB to 4.0 for Cingular this morning. When I finished, PocketDay would not run so I tried a reinstall and it still would not run. So I deleted it.

Also when I reinstall, what do I do with the .cod files. I don't know if I am supposed to load them and how do I get them to load when the loader won't accept them.

RSWiser,

You mean the desktop manager says there are no apps to install. This occasionally happens. Install OTA per instructions in the readme.doc file.

Okay, updated to 4.0. Pocketday removed and reinstalled. Stocks and Weather refreshed, but I still get the IO Tunnel error. All other programs on my BB 7290 are working.

RSWiser,

Ok, now try this:

AT&T - Now has TCP/IP; No MDS hosting needed
Go to Options->TCP
APN: proxy
Username/password is blank

or

Cingular - Now has TCP/IP; No MDS hosting needed
Go to Options->TCP
APN: isp.cingular
Username: [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1
Cingular works now, but it is a little tricky to set up at Cingular first by calling them. You have to telephone Cingular and ask for these line items to be added to your Cingular bill, if it does not already show up on your Cingular bill, called "Wireless Internet Express" (WIX for short) and "Wireless Internet Express Data Connect":Quote:
WIX EXTENDED INTERNET $0.00
WIX DATA CONNECT $0.00
WRLSS INTRNT XPRS PAY PER USE $0.00
These items go by different names in some states, such as California, but essentially you need the same lineitems you would normally have for a regular cellphone for tethering it to a laptop computer. If Cingular won't add non-BlackBerry data to your account, you may have to insist on asking for Cingular to add a $5-per-month non-BlackBerry plan on top of your existing unlimited BlackBerry plan. Next, you need to use the proper APN username and APN password as follows, in all uppercase, when you start the "BlackBerry Modem" connection when using Cingular:Quote:
Username: [email address]
Password: CINGULAR1
It is very important to make sure that all the WIX lineitems are already on your bill, including "Wireless Internet Express DATA CONNECT". The last line item required for tethered modem operation with Cingular. Once this is done, then there is no more port blocking anymore! If you do not need modem operation, you do not need the third line item. You may have to telephone Cingular multiple times before you reach a Customer Service Representative that understands how to add these line items. Alternative settings for web browsing and non-BES Verichat:
APN: proxy
Username: (blank)
Password: (blank)
If you continue to have problems, see this thread.

OK, maybe I'm just ignorant, but I have been trying to show the DJIA and NASDAQ in the stock sections. I got ^DJX to work for the Dow but this is only 1/10th of the actual number. What are the symbols for these?
