Default New 8703e Keeps Dropping calls

Hello,

I got my new 8703e last week from Verizon. When I make a phone call, or receive a phone call, the call wil last between 20 and 40 seconds, and drop.

I sent the phone back on Friday, got a new one yesterday and the samething is happening.

Any ideas why? Needless to say Verizon has not a clue.

Any help is appreciated.

The same thing happened to me upon arrival from Verizon. The problem ended up being the fact my old phone (in this case a Blackberry 7139) was still powered up. It seems as though the ESN of both devices being on caused confusion in the system which would caused the drop.

Is it the Sim card?? I know that I have had tremendous problems with the sim card to the point that I , like yourself, have just sent mine back for replacement. Lucky for Cingular that they have a fast acting warantee plan/program

Yes, having the other phone powered up can cause problems with the ESN swap. My friend ran into this identical issue. If you read the instructions from the package or the email that verizon sends you one of the first steps is to power off your old phone.

Yep, same thing here...

The old phones were powered on in the office. It's a security issue. Shut them down completely. Take batteries out.
