No it does not, and nothing larger than 1GB will work

next time do a quick search yield wonders ;)

Not trying to be rude, but when people just signup to ask a question that has been asked over and over, can get a little annoying, nothing directed at you.

As many times as I recommend to people that they use the search function, in this case I don't recall seeing this question asked or answered. I even did a search, and manually looked through four pages of postings in the 8100 forum and could not find this question.

I could be wrong, but there are some cases where searching does not help...

I should have been more specific didn't mean directly in the forums just a general search.

Also i don't recall a phone coming with an SD ever really unless it was a package deal from the store. Could be wrong.

And you are totaly right, there is none on the forums I thought there were, my bad sorry

Interesting, the first place I usually look for information on a new product is usually the manufacturers website.

I'm just curious as to why some people here don't seem to start their research there. Just a question, not a flame.

It sucks that the BB Pearl doesn't come with a micro SD, but it will accept them. I found a 256MB one at Wal-Mart for less than $20 bucks and it was made by Sandisk. The device memory is decent enough, so unless you're gonna load it out the whazoo with pics, video files, and ringtones, that one should do the trick. But whatever you do...steer clear of T-Mo's. They're asking an arm and a child for the Micro SD's.

There's always a sale on them somewhere.

Didn't know about the SK3, don't have TMO and as far as the SLVR where is this? I wish I knew that cause none of the Cingular stores localy here have it coming with any SD card.

Good to know though, brain food.

I ordered my SLVR online as an upgrade. The 512mb card was included in the Cingular-branded OEM packaging. I hate my local Cingular store most times, so I tend to just work through their website.

I agree that it kinda sucks that the Pearl supports removable media but doesn't come with any. They could've at least threw in a 64MB card.

I'm sure most people have seen this by now, but (for those of you who haven't) you can get a 1GB card from Newegg for $35. A-DATA 1GB MicroSD Flash Media - Retail at Newegg.com

It's way easier to post a quick question than to spend 10 min. searching. I'm sorry if that sounds selfish, but that's kind of the point of forums, for me.

If I dont see the question on the first page, I post a quick question.

If something like that bothered me, I would be inclined to ignore it. It's a colossal waste of time to monitor the forums for duplicate questions and then come in and upbraid the poster.

Thanks for the answer.

You know...for a $250 phone I would have at least expected a 64mb card to be included.

Yeah, you'd think... but honestly... I wouldn't have settled for 64MB anyway. I still would've went out and bought a gig so I'm not really stressed about it. I'm very happy with spending $250 for a phone such as the Pearl that's MILES ahead of the SK3 I just purchased (and returned) that DID come with a 64MB card... but was also $100 more and WAY behind the Pearl in terms of features. If you ask me, the Pearl is a pretty good deal. If you really want an SD card, go out and spend 30 or 40 bucks... have your card that is a higher capacity than that of a lesser phone... and still end up saving some cash. Just my 2 cents.
