Unhappy changed blackberries and need help transferring email

Please Login to Remove!

Just bought a 7130c from Cingular. Synched it and got all the contacts etc. on it. However, went to Cingular's blackberry site to log in and change the PIN and IMEI. The site took the new info and told me to register my 7130c, my old one did it automatically, how do I register my new one? Tried turning it on and off, but that didn't work. Also noticed that there is no Edge icon or even GPRS icon. My old one got GPRS here no problem, so I don't think I am out of coverage area. There's got to be a setting I'm missing. Suggestions?

Thanks

This happened to me because the Cingular person I called when I got the device did not do his job right. Call Cingular and get to a higher tier of BB support.

Cingular wasted two hours of my time with their own confusion. Ah hates 'em.

To register the handheld with the network go to Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, click the trackwheel, and select register.

As far as getting your old emails on the new device, back up the old device using the desktop manager. Then connect the new device, go to backup/restore, hit advanced, and you can choose which databases to restore to the new device.

Also, there is no "GPRS" icon. You will see "edge" if you are on GPRS and "EDGE" if you are on edge network. Lower case = GPRS, upper case = EDGE.

I hope this helps.

You will see GPRS and possibly even gprs on an EDGE enabled handheld.

If you are not provisioned by the wireless provider for the high speed network (wich may be standard now) then you won't be able to use EDGE and therefore will only see gprs or GPRS.

If you are in an area that currently does not have EDGE coverage, you will see gprs or GPRS.

Same thing goes for 1x/1X/1x-ev/1X-EV on the CDMA side.
