I connect using SMTP from a MIDP application to local mail server. The application runs on the simulator 4.0 with MDS 4.0. I tried to make no use of BlackBerry Mail API and use only SocketConnection on port 25
The problem is that if the message size is above a certain limit the MDS log file displays the following error:

The message gets on the server but is truncated (e.g. instead of "abcdefg" we get only "efg")

More discoveries:

add deviceside=true and the message gets sent correctly as the MDS is ignored.
