Hello everyone.. I'm new to this blackberry world and not sure I'm keeping mine if I don't leanrn how to use the dang thing. I feel like I've been thrown into the sea to learn to swim and there are no instructions! the piddly little user guide doesn't help and my sales representative(provider) is learning as well as I about how this machine works. NOT A GOOD SIGN. Maybe I'm in over my head or the machine is more than I need.

My first question is why am I not receiving my text messages and are there some steps to take to test it or figure out WHY its not working. I don't even know the questions to ask to get help. I've sent text messages to friends and they've replied and I don't get them. Friends have sent new text message and I still don't receive them. Why is this happening and how can I solve the problem?

I am willing to go back to the service provider, call tech support or search other forums and the blackberry.com/support website if that is where I need to start.

could someone help the Newbie-bb user out?

Can you send your self one? If not I'd call your provider support with that information. Maybe your account is not set up correctly to have SMS message support.

I think BB OS 4.0 has a built-in Help file. I know I've used it a few times for "how-to" and appreciate it. Don't know what OS you use but I would image your carrier's tech support can help .
