Default AIM for blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

I've heard about a few different clients that you can download to get AIM for blackberry, but they have all been confusing to install. Can anyone recommend an instant messenger client for AOL instant messenger that works for a blackberry 8700c? Thanks in advance!

I know you're new here, but you should still consider using the search button. AIM for BlackBerry is a dead horse that has been beaten multiple times.

Angry Don't waste your time.

I have been so turned off to the lack of support for my Balckberry at AOL, I have had my friends and family switch to Yahoo Messenger. They implemented the way an IM program should be ....

Seconded! I have used Yak-on for the 8700 since it was in beta and love it!! Give it a try, you won't be dissapointed!

Thirded.

Ramble's "nice" because its free, but the interface is pretty primitive, and hasn't been updated for quite a while now. Yak-On has put out 3 or 4 new releases (albeit minor bugfixes) since I bought it 2 months ago.

I tried Yak-On and love the UI, but man it sucked the life out of my battery in a half a day.

I am attempting to use Google Talk for AIM on the BB, but it's not as nice.

Had Veri-chat for a year and liked it.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Yak-on also sucks the life out of my battery. Which is why I hesitate to buy it. However, it works very well.

After following the discussion in this thread I bought Yak-on and am very happy with it. Thanks for the advice.
