Just tired of my current email account name with Cingular and want to change it. Any idea how to do that? I guess it would consist of deleting the current account and creating a new one, I'm just not sure how. Please help...

Call Cingular blackberry support and they can assist you with that.

Is that the only way? I was hoping to avoid that one.

That's was how I got mine done when I was with Cingular. The bb support people are fast and easier to deal with than Cingular customer care. If there's another way, then maybe someone else will chime in. When I had it done the bb support person deleted the old account on their end and I told them what I wanted the new account to be. Simple as that, I was good to go. I was on the phone with them under 3 minutes total--maybe less. Good luck to you.

If you are on Cingular BIS 2.0 you can just delete your mycingular.blackberry.net email address and create new with any name you like (unless it is already taken).

If you are on Cingular BIS 1.8 all you can do is ask Cingular to delete your account. Be warned that new account they can create for you or you can create for yourself will be on BIS 2.0.

So, unless you have any strong feelings against BIS 2.0 I would suggest to upgrade, and then you can manage all your email addresses yourself.

Actually I am running 2.0, I just can't seem to find the appropriate steps. If you can walk me through it I'd appreciate it.

Steps:

Login to your account.
Observe list of email addresses you have (right side of screen). Each email address will have three icons: Edit, Filters, Delete (trash bin).
Click on icon that looks like trash bin, at the right from your @mycingular.blackberry.net email address.
Agree to delete email address.

After you have done that:

Your screen will have button at the bottom, saying 'create blackberry email address' or such. Click on that button, you'll proceed to screen that will ask you to enter name for your mycingular.blackberry.net email address. You can pick any name that was not taken already.
