Nope. The password security is designed to render the Blackberry useless if you don't know the password. If the password's set, then it's obviously something that they use regularly, so very few on here are going to buy the "customer forgot the code" story. Sorry.

If the "customer" can't remember the code, consider it a nice, fancy paperweight.

Can't you wipe the OS completely with javaloader and re-install the OS? or is the security code embedded further than just the flash memory?

Its a verizon phone so can't you activate it under another account, program it and that will reset the password? I think thats how some cell phones work

So...you want to activate a phone under a new account, but have access to all the information of the previous user? Why on Earth would you want to do that?

If, and that's a big "if" that I don't really have the answer to, you can get past the security part of the phone, it would require such a deep wipe that there's no way you could keep the info. This is assuming you could even do it in the first place.

The purpose of the security on this equipment is to do exactly what's intended...render it useless if you don't know the password.

So you know...Typically, when someone comes to this forum wanting us to help them hack a "found" Blackberry, most are going to assume it's stolen. Look for that to happen here, too.

What the heck is your problem? This lady has a verizon 7250 called the used cell phone store that I work at and told us that she was locked out of her phone. Most likely by accident I don't know its not my phone I'm just trying to help her out. I know with some cell phones when you reprogram the phone the lock code gets reset to the last 4 digits of your phone number. I don't have any experience with blackberrys so I came here to look for some answers. If you don't want to help than don't post thank you very much!

Not sure where you think the problem is. I AM trying to help you out. If asking questions is cause for problem, then I'm not sure what you're looking for.

Before, it sounded like you wanted to reflash the OS, activate the phone under a new account, and still access all the old account info. That came across as fishy. Typically, that's a request by someone who "found" someone's Blackberry.

I don't know if an OS wipe will reset the password, though I recommend that you shoot for that as a first choice. A search for "Javaloader" will help you find what you're looking for. After that, reload the OS, and restore her latest backup.

Like I said, it's a big "if". I'm not sure if that will reset the password issue, but it's the best option that I can think of.

Why doesn't she ask her BB Admin to do a "Set Password and Lock Handheld" from the BB Manager. Admin can send her a default password and then she can change it in Security Options.

Again, if there is a BB Admin.

Does the customer have a backup?

If so, have her enter the wrong password 10 times. The device will perform a wipe (all personal data and settings erased) and revert back to the factory default. She can still use it after the wipe. A backup will allow her to restore her data....
