And why should we at Verizon be listening to and accepring what a Cingular client has to say (unless he is a Verizon employee with inside information, which then leads me to ask why with Cingular) as to when Verizon will release or what kind of device they will release? This is all said tongue in cheek.

Discontinuing 7250?
Verizon appears to be discontinuing the 7250, which will hopefully make way for an introduction of the 87xx. I went looking for a 7250 today, and none of the Verizon stores carry it anymore. It is still available online, but the price has been knocked way down to just $99.

I don't have a BB yet, but I've had phones on Verizon Wireless for for over 10 years (back when they were Bell Atlantic in NYC). In all of that time, I've never had a dropped call in NYC. They consistently rate the highest in every single city tested (for call clarity, customer service, etc.) when Consumer Reports does its annual wireless reviews.
I'd love to get my hands on an 8700, but there is no way I would switch from VZW to get it.

Actually if it has the intel processor, which I am sure it will, there WILL be a mm player for it. There are quite a few in development, one coming out very very soon. How is it I know that, but you with insider knowledge doesnt? Makes me question your "source".

I'm new here, but the guy does seem to be telling the truth and what he's saying does seem pretty reasonable.

I went to my local Verizon store and spoke to the manager, he said that he is going to get the 8700 from verizon in two weeks, for personal use. He goes on to say that it will be available for public purchase in two months from then. I can't wait to upgrade from the 7130e.

8700 to Verizon
I have heard that the 8700 will be released late summer and early Fall with a release date of December and early 07 for the international verision of the 8700. I have a 7130E currently and can't wait for the full keyboard. I have gotten good with the suretype but miss the full keyboard.
Has anyone heard of a new device with a memory card slot and GPS coming out in 4th QT of 06. I hear it is going to T-Mobile first but don't know what it looks like at all. Just rumors....

Obviously, the problem with the 7130 keyboard is Suretype. The 8700, the keys are stiff and spaced too close together.
If you don't mind the suretype, I would stick with the 7130.
|
I went from a 7100V to an 8700C and I like both. Suretype takes a bit to get used to but QWERTY is better IMHO.

i work for vzw and carry a 7130e. Trust me first off the 7130e can take a beting. Mine takes quite a beating. Second, the moto q....its a bust. The hardware is great the software sucks. Ppl returning it left and right right before the 15 day trial period is up. Its just not what ppl expect after having bb's. Stick with the bb! Trust me.

I have to disagree with this one. I have the 8700c and the 7130e. The 7130e is more durable. Now if you are comparing earlier 7500 to the earlier 7100's there might be some truth.

Its Coming
Check out this article on TheStreet.com from Jim Cramer. Its about half-way down the page......
http://www.thestreet.com/_mktwrm/fun...0293270_2.html
This summer, the Blackberry 8700, RIM's newest, flagship product, is coming to CDMA via Verizon (VZ:NYSE - commentary - research - Cramer's Take). I think that when this rolls out in the Verizon store, you're going to see some serious sales, because we may be entering our first Blackberry replacement cycle.
