I have an 8700 right now that was having major operating system issues. I thought i would do what i normally do and do a javaloader -usb wipe command and simply plug the device back in and let it do an OS update. Instead of asking me to redeploy software the desktop software is asking me for alx/cod files to load on the unit. I have the latest desktop software 4.1.1 and i just did a 7230 using the same methodology and it worked fine (javaloader -usb wipe; then plugged in the unit and it automatically updated the software on the 7230). I could really use some assistance on this one as it is for a VIP in my organization.

Do you have the 8700 OS installed on your PC from the same carrier of your BlackBerry? If not, you need to delete the vendor.xml file.

I figured it out. T-Mobile to the rescue. Apparently I had to download redirector 4.1.1.12 and add an 8700 update to it. Crisis averted. Thanks for the help incase you guys were wondering this is the site i found the info on.
