Default Blackberry Online Banking Works! [I use TD Canada Trust]

Please Login to Remove!

Several online banking websites now have WAP banking. To use them on your Blackberry, find the WAP version of the banking website and try to use it on your Blackberry. It sometimes works better if you use your WAP Bowser and turn off HTML, set it to view WML only (this is important), since it may not work in Blackberry Browser with HTML. I use TD Canada Trust, so here are the links:

TD Canada Trust WAP (Must use WAP with HTML turned off):
.... http://www.td.com/w

TD Canada Trust Mini-HTML (Blackberry Browser Compatible):
.... Very long tdgroup.com link (Copy Shortcut)

Please post in this thread if your online banking works. Make sure your links are official bank websites of a familiar USA/Canadian bank, because there are lots of fake bank websites out there. Do not click any links in this thread without first checking the domain name, to make sure it ends in verified official bank site domain names -- such as td.com or tdgroup.com in the TD Canada Trust example.

Wireless online banking saved me a few times already. In a lineup, I didn't have enough funds in one of my accounts, so I used my Blackberry to transfer money between two bank accounts. Took me only about 40 seconds (make sure bookmark with a cached copy of the login page for speed).

This is realtime "Just In Time" online banking, in the middle of a grocery checkout line!

Yes, i've found though from time to time the WAP stops working (kind of randomly) and since WAP inteface is a pain to work with.. i don't find myself using it all that often..

The mini HTML site you found is great! I was looking for that but could not find it, i much prefer mini HTML to most wap sites, which tend to be pretty hard to navigate around..

thanks for the link. Now if only yellowpages.ca would fix their brain-dead interface and allow us to enter a city directly off the main form, we'd have another very useful app for canadians..

As long as the WAP site was working properly, WAP isn't that bad on my Berry at least as long as the next page loads very quickly. An advantage I found is hitting Enter is the same as selecting "OK", something that doesn't work with HTML. So I can type a password or amount and hit Enter, without using the thumb wheel to scroll to bottom and select the OK link.

However, I do definitely prefer TD's mini HTML website. (However, the 4.0 browser requires me to turn off WAP in order for the mini HTML to work well)

Unfortunately I guess this is one of the disadvantages of having a small bank. Big banks kill you with charges and fees but you get all the perks that come along with it. My bank has a website with online banking. Will webviewer do?

I remember 1996 when I switched to TD since they had one of the first Canadian online banking system/RRSP online stock purchase system (MicroMax), and got signed up for TD's beta test online banking website before the public had access. It was a promotion provided to Micromax online stock traders and modem banking customers (dial up directly, no Internet). Although TD's fees are a bit high I do indeed get some of the perks.

My main gripe with TD is the lack of online banking with a TD U.S. dollar business account applied for in Canada by Canadian businesses. I want to be able to (1) online bank; (2) Online bidirectional transfer between USA and CAD dollar accounts, and (3) withdraw USA dollars from USA ATM's with no foreign exchange. Incidentally, TD's personal USA dollar account has ALL these perks but NONE of these perks exist for the business USA dollar account! My business has both a USA dollar account and a CAN dollar account. Trying to figure out a solution, as I am trying to finally switch from Quicken Home&Business to QuickBooks (or any more-industrial product compatible with online banking downloads) by the next fiscal year for my consulting business, and DONT want to have to manually type banking data, since I get more USA income than Canada income (and I just got my first hong kong client). And some of my business expenses are paid directly out of my USA account now for purchases of USA goods & services to save on my foreign exchange costs. For 2003, it took a full whopping week for me to get all the accounting done before passing the prepared data to my accountant which I now pay 4 figures for anually to do services for me. Now I am trying to cut that time for 2004, and true online USA business banking for Canadian businesses would be very helpful. But I don't think other Canadian banks have online banking for business USA dollar accounts that supports all the features I want (like the features of a personal USA dollar account).

Of course the mini HTML link works on IE on my browser..

i get "unable to connect to the Internet, try again later" on my BB (Rogers, OS 4, public MDS)

The miniHTML works just fine on my Rogers 7280 with BES/MDS... Even CSCOOP (full HTML) works on my BlackBerry now, through the BES 4.0 server...

Even clicking on the link in Desktop Internet Explorer works fine. Maybe just re-email the link to yourself?

I suspect it's because of BES, that the mini HTML site works only through BES. (You might have been using BES until you cancelled and got public MDS? Or has it ever worked through public MDS?)

I bank with Wells Fargo and found this dated 2001 release, but cannot find any further info on it.

Wait: I also used it on 3.7 before public MDS =) (as you could force the browser with rbro trick to do HTML)

Not sure....

However, if you need to test the best online banking with BlackBerry, you need BES 4.0 with BlackBerryOS 4.0

I am able to logon through the main pages of both of my banks, TD Canada Trust and CSCOOP/Alterna.
(full HTML, not mini HTML, not WAP):

These work on my BlackBerry (BES 4.0 needed):
https://easyweb.tdcanadatrust.com
http://www.cscoop.ca

Much slower than WAP though, and the HTML is mashed up on the small screen, but it does work.
