Default Ebay...GREEEAT...

So I bought a car charger and travel adaptor for my 7130e...

The charger that came with my device shows 5V out, 0.5A
The charger that I got from ebay said 5Vout, 700ma (0.7A)

Does this matter?...

200milli amps overdrive on a sensitive electronics chip or chips for a flash wouldnt concern me. If it is sustained I might wonder. One thing about electronics is they build for way conservative power levels and can take more without damage. But it is for your BB. Your car, sure what the hell. but your precious left arm BB?

I would have to ponder that some. You might call Blackberry and see what they think. With company equipment I would say heck yes.

But isn't the 700 mA the capacity of the adapter? It does not normally mean that it would be pumping in more than is being drawn by the device, but how much it can deliver if the device is thirsty enough.

My Understanding is 700mA is the highest rating the charger can accomodate so if your BB needs only 500mA then there is no problem, if it's the other way around then that's where the problem comes in.

NumNums and ezacarias are correct. That rating is the max that the charger can supply, not what it will supply. It will supply whatever the device asks for. If the BB wants 0.5A, that's what it will get. If the BB wants 5A, it'll get that too, but only before a split second before the charger fries.

It's impossible to give a device too much power, because it will only use what it needs. You could have a 5V, 500A charger and be fine. You can, however, take too much power from a device, like ezacarias was saying.

So bottom line is you are perfectly fine with that setup.
