Ramsy, what version of the OS are you running, out of curiosity? This is a brand new 8700g out of the box from T-Mobile?

I think I may have found the solution otherwise, and that is to install the Hong Kong CSL version of the software.

Ya, I'm running CSL on my 8700c unlocked on TMO; but if TMO OS can support trad chinese & run zen then there's no need for me to run CSL!

I'm running 4.1.0.284 from TMO, and don't seem to be able to display Chinese in my e-mails, unless I'm doing something wrong.

I had no problems enabling the Zen theme though...

I just got a Cingular 8700c. To load this newer T-Mobile version, does my 8700 have to be unlocked?

No. While I don't have a 8700c, but a 8700g. When I did this OS "upgrade" my phone was not unlocked. Locking only deals with whether or not you can use another carrier's SIM card in your phone.

I downloaded both the new desktop and handheld software from the T-Mobile site. Installed both, run Desktop Manager and nothing....

I go to "Application Loader", nothing. Try to drill down to the directory where the new code is loaded (in the shared directory, it is there) and it won't accept anything.

I too want to know if anyone has done with with an 8700c.

Okay, well, my -g arrived in the office today. Out of the box, no trad. chinese support; installed the latest with jibi's blackberry.alx file, again, no dice with trad chinese support. I can input trad chinese though!

Looks like I'm going to need to install CSL like I did with my -c or jibi, something I can edit in blackberry.alx?
