Default Nextel Blackberry Users

Please Login to Remove!

Before you say it, I did search!!

I found so many questions and different answers with different dates that I still don't know what the answer is.

I just got my first Blackberry.

How do I send a text message? I don't care if it is SMS or MMS. I just want to be able to send a text.

Thanks for any help.

you can also send messages to [email address]
With teleflip you dont need to know what network the user is on.

Okay. I remember seeing those answers. Thank you to all.

But is it possible to receive text? I don't think so from what I've read. I think they have to send it to my email, right?

I cannot seem to setup my BB email.

yes, you can recieve text messages. But, most of the time you can't tell who they are from. Unless they use [email address]

I kinda figured out a way around the text messaging on the 7520. What I did was to create a gmail account that forwards directly to my 7520. All nextel sms users can send to a phone number, or email address. My wife can send to the gmail address from her I830, and I can reply directly back to her using her nextel sms email address (what nextel didn't tell us) the sms address for nextel phones is: [email address] (replace 5555551212 with the number you are text messaging) this works great for us.

If anyone else wants to try it out, PIN me and I'll set up a gmail invite for you. Make sure you send me your name and email address to set it up.

John

why do all of that when you can just use your blackberry email address if you are using BIS?

Lots of good ideas. Maybe I should have just gotten the 7100. I like the keyboard though.

Cool text messaging/7520

If you are still in the 14 day return window, go get an unlocked 8700 or 7290-

Kick in 10 more bucks than your paying for nextel UNL bb, and go get t-mobile UNLIMITED text messaging/ul data and 1000 voice minutes- at edge capable speed.
If TMO coverage suits you-youll be lovin life.
Your milage may vary...

If T-mobile ever covers more of Iowa besides Des Moines, i would ditch 7520 for a 7290 in a minute. Cingular covers alot of Iowa, buts its BB plans is as bad as Nextel. Maybe, I will get a 515 des moines number and let t-mobile roam on cingular all the time where i live in 319

I know somewhere around the forums, a user has made a listing of the sms email addresses for the carriers. You can also (on some sites) go to the website of the carrier and get that address. I remember some but not all the email address.

Verizon: [email address]

Sprint: [email address] (replace sprintpcs with nextel for nextel users)

T Mobile: [email address]

Those are the ones I remember. Hope it helps. I usually program the email address into my address book under the name of the person so I don't have to remember, I just select email the person and that's it. Works well for me, I even get pictures too. Not bad for a BB 7510 from Nextel!

Cingular-- @mobile.mycingular.com

T-Mobile-- @tmomail.net

Nextel-- @messaging.nextel.com

Sprint-- @messaging.sprintpcs.com (not positive on this one)
