I am trying to convince Seidio who has made a nice 7100i holster to make black housings for the 7100i's.

Do you think RIM would realease the design or license it?

I don't think you can manufacture something that a company already produces without infringing on the tradmarked/patented design.

I'm thinking you could possibly "modify" an OEM part to a different spec. without any liable actions.

If we could find a good system for dying the plastics and only do it to OEM housings, you could then re-sell the product.

I'm not into business law though, so I could be full of it.

Anyone know?

I have the gray paint underneath the Blackberry name coming off. It is black. Is there anyone who sells these 7100i housing? Searched but no luck
