I have been trying to install a new os.exe file I just downloaded and. Its my first time doing this I can not get my phone to do a re-instalation or update it keeps on saying no updates available or device up to date . Now the reason I wish to update is because my bb I'd stoped working when I was updating it now I can't even protect my device or back up stuff please help with the nessesary steps in to instaling this new OS for my 9780

Check the 9700 section. Pick an appropriate OS. The instructions are there. Follow them exactly and be patient. It can take an hour or longer.

You may have to wipe it completely and start over.

Can someone pleae help me understand why I can't get my bb Id to work.

What happens is that I open BBProtect and it askes me to update my bbID now doing so I get this "Sorry their is no compatable version of BbID available @ this time
