Default BB 7100t on Rogers?

Greetings,

nOOb question: Has anyone tested an unlocked BB7100 t/v/x/g on Rogers yet. I am shopping around for a BB device for use on Rogers and would appreciate knowing if I should consider these or not?

Thanks,

MM

It should work, but you must make sure it is triple unlocked:

1. Carrier unlocked.

1. SIM unlocked.

2. BlackBerry PIN unlock. Deactivate FULLY from T-Mobile's network. Make sure your T-Mobile BWC account is deleted and cannot be logged on via website.

In addition, you shouldn't talk too much to Rogers about your phone being a non-Rogers phone. Just walk into a Rogers phone store and buy a BlackBerry SIM card and the $60 unlimited plan without a contract. Then you can plug it into your phone.

Hi Mark,

Ok, no problem with the first one. Bongowireless can do that for us locally.

Number two: SIM unlocked. Not sure I am understanding this. Since I will need a SIM from ROGERS (I already have this in my current phone), I assume you mean something other than a 'virgin' SIM? Anyhow, I am sure that if this in a phone issue, Bongo takes care of this too, otherwise #1 would be a waste of money.

Number three: This sounds like a problem to me... So I have to contact T-Mobile, for example, and say, " Hi, I'm not a customer of yours, but I have just bought one of your phones and had it unlocked so I can use it on some other network. Could you please deactivate this IMEI on your network so I won't have any problems?"

Somehow, I don't see them going out of their way to help. Besides, wouldn't this only be a problem if I tried to roam onto their network? I've done my travelling and don't plan on doing too much more until the kids move out and I retire...
