My bb9860 fails to give out an IP address when browsing, so certain sites, such as The National Lottery, which require this to verify I'm in the UK will not allow me to enter. Is this down to Blackberry or my mobile carrier (t-mobile)? Please help.

You did not say if this is a corporate BB. If it is the IT policy can block the web site unless it is on an authorized list.
you can check with the carrier but generally they do not block any sites.

@tsac.... It's not corporate or PAYG. Just a private contract. This problem has only surfaced since I upgraded my phone to the BB. My old Nokia had no trouble accessing these websites.

You do have an IP address, but it is through NAT, and all of your traffic traverses BIS, which may or may not mask that as well.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately I'm a complete novice with these things so don't really understand what you mean(sorry). Is there any way to get this sorted so I can access the sites that require a visible IP address?
