hi guys,

i have a blackberry 8520 edge. on our server there is a public contacts list (lotus notes) and I have to get it onto my blackberry.

in the blackberry server docs (docs.blackberry.com) I have read that I have to add a contact server name into Blackberry Topology > Component View > Email

I'm adding the server like "CN=Servername/O=Domainname" and in the second column I add the path to the address book like "public\addressbook.nsf".

After adding the contact server name and the address book, I try to edit the user, i.e. myself.

I go to Manage Users > Select the user > Default Configuration > Edit User > Tab Email
on the bottom of the page there should be now the addressbook, but I can't see it, it's not in the list.

Normally there are also some other servers and other addressbooks in the contact name servers list but if I try to edit the user, I can see only some of them and not all.

Now, I'm looking for a solution. Hope you guys can help me out.

Is BESAdmin the owner of the public folder?
Is the fodler in the root?
in permissions is Default set to reviewer?

So some problems are solved now.
I had to add the user to the ACL (Access Control List) of the addressbook. after adding, the addressbook was visible on BES.

I gave the user reader permissions in acl but somehow the addressbook isn't appearing on the blackberry. i tried several times reactivating the device (enterprise activation) but it didn't help.

on another device it worked but not on a 9780 bb
