Hi - Ive set a smartphone password, but i want to remove it as its not convienant for me - but i cant remove it, when i navigate back to the setting "enable" it has a little padlock next to it and i cant "uncheck" the box.

Anyone know how to remove this.

Sorry BES? Enterprise server? No. Just use's normal pop accounts

Yes i got it two days ago - whilst setting it up i thought it woul dbe a good idea to place a password to access it in case i lost it, anyway i took it to work today and the password feature is a pain in the ass and i want to turn it off, but when i navigate to the feature to "uncheck" the "enable" button it has a little padlock next to it, and it wont let me turn the password feature off for some reason.

Are you using it on a BES for your company e-mail?

No its only a POP3 account per his admission. Give this a shot. Your content protection may have everything a bit hazy...

On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
In the Options screen, go to Security.
In the Security screen, access Encryption.
Scroll down to Media Card section
Uncheck the Encrypt box
Display the menu, and click Save (input the password when prompted to do so).

After doing this then go in and try to un-check your device password
