Hi, recently my curve 8900 keeps getting a white screen or turns off by itself. I'm sure it is not the white screen of death because everytime i restart my blackberry, it works fine but a white screen will suddenly appear again after a few hours. I also recently noticed that i need to charge my blackberry in order for it to restart and if I restart it without any power source, it will load, but will turn off by itself after it finishes loading. Are there any solutions to this? It gets really annoying when the white screen appears because I need to charge it to restart my blackberry.

Unless you got it wet or dropped it the first thing to do is to replace the battery.
If you let the battery drain below 20% much it is usually what will cause this.

Well i'm pretty sure I have never got my bb wet but I have dropped it a few times. Also yesterday I noticed that my blackberry battery was bigger than usual (sort of like a big lump on the front side) which causes the back casing to not fit properly (like there is a small gap whenever i close it). So perhaps this is causing the problem?

yes, both could be an issue.

Bump?? the battery is a Lithium Ion type and that indicates it is internally failing and could cause bigger problems including overheating and damage to the phone. Failing LI batteries have been know to catch fire. Although it may be low on a cell phone why take a chance.

I think the problem is due to my inflated battery. I did some more research on the problem and I came across a few people who had the same exact problem with an inflated battery and the problem was resolved after they changed their battery. Thanks for the help guys! :D

Just make sure you buy an OEM quality battery, not a knock-off.

Sorry , an inflated LI battery needs to be replaced. Read the dangers on this issue on the internet.
