Does anyone use a playbook without owning a Blackberry smart phone?
Would this make sense at all?
I know you would not be able to bridge or connect or whatever. How much functionality would be lost without the BB phone?
Just wondering, as with the price drop it is now looking more attractive.
My wife uses one without a BB around the house the same way she uses the WiFi only iPad. You wont have email etc till at least February so concider that.

My other Blackberry is a PlayBook.
The $200 price is making it tempting. vs $500 ipad 2. Or save the money and wait for ipad 3. Which is rumoured to come out right around the time of the playbook os upgrade. hmm
For $200 its tempting
I dont have a blackberry at the moment and I own several playbooks in my house, they are still great for tablet use/ video chatting.
Even though there is no real amount of native apps etc. for 199 you cant go wrong.
Blackberry has a OS 2.0 Beta you can try out, I have heard great things and they are going to have android apps soon I beileve.
Playbooks been out for half a year, ipad has been out for almost 2 years so you cant really compare. However the hardware on the playbook is definately superier to other tablets they just need to get the software down which takes time.
I would get it if I were you for 199 while you still can because its not worth 499 at the moment.
