Default BBery 9900 Email Issues

Please Login to Remove!

When I send or attempt to open the email application on my new BBery 9990 I get the delayed clock face timer thingy and and the following message

net_rim_bb_messaging_app: previous instance still active (report to an http (colon forward slash forward slash) go (forward slash) memory (forward slash) leaks (colon) previous instance still active.

The options offer the option for OK or save. Either way the device hangs up and crashes.

When I do managed to open the email application the blackberry menu key to the left of the mouse which opens the drop down menu does not activate and I am not able to reply to e-mails or use any of the drop down functions.

Does anyone have any advice on how to solve this?

Have you tried a battery pull? With the device on, remove the battery for 30 to 60 seconds. Put it back in and let the device reboot.

What did you do to or with the BB just before this began to occur - i.e. load an app?

Maybe that is the latest version released by your carrier. Mine says v7.0.0.261 Platform 5.0.0.469.

The same response applies, have you tried a battery pull?

What did you do just before it happened the first time?

Please do not write using text speak.

You can install any OS as long as it is specifically for your device. I.e. you can't install a 9800 OS on a 9810. See the stiky at the top of the 9800 section for the correct OS and instructions.
