Yesterday out of the blue the little blackberry icon next to the signal etc; disappeared. Now I am not receiving my e-mails and am unable to use my BBM (which is driving me mad)
I've had my phone for 2 years so its not a new phone issue
Can anybody help?!

Could a bill have ben paid late? I assume you do have a valid BB Data Plan, yes?

If so, try resending your Service Books and Reregister the Host Routiung Tables....

What does that mean? You list your carrier as Unknown. If you have a BB Data Plan you do have to pay the carrier so you should know who they are.

Did you try the other suggestions assuming you have a BB Data Plan?

I only wrote that because I'm totally dense and didnt know what it meant!
If it means my network then I'm 3 and I am all up to date with bills etc;
I went to register my phone and got a message saying a register request had been sent, this was abot 6 hours ago and I still haven't had anything back!

Have you tried resetting the device by popping the battery out and then back in?

You have taken the battery out while the device is ON, correct?

You may want to contact your service provider just to make sure something wasn't changed with your account and maybe the BB Data plan was removed in error. See if they can do some trouble shooting with you.

Try logging into 3's BIS page and re-entering your phone's IMEI and PIN.

It could also be a localized network problem. Ring up 3 and see what's what.
