Default Should I update my Bold to OS 6?

Please Login to Remove!

In see that I have an upgrade on my Bold 9650. Should I proceed even though my phone is a corporate phone, even though I put what I want on it? Any issues I should consider like messing up my Corporate Outlook. Don't want to get in trouble at work.

If you are using a company device then you should talk to your IT staff before you do anything. They control it.

My advice to anyone though if the device is working fine, does what you need it to do, then it isn't broken and doesn't need to be fixed with an OS upgrade.

Cool Re: Should I update my Bold to OS 6?

Suggest you look in the sub-model / sub-forums...pretty much each and every forum there will have the latest OS there for that particular model.

As noted above and having had some experieince in going to a new OS (when there was no good reason to do so), I have found that...the "grass is not always greener" on the other side. Newer Operating systems can cause glitches and issues on your (older), unit.

If it aint broke....dont "fix" it.!

Cheers from frozen Calgary...-20 now for about 4 weeks straight.

Stk

Before performing any upgrade, ask yourself how your current OS is working for you. Also read up on what other folks are saying about OS 6 on your model. Are any issues that you see discussed potential deal-breakers for you?

I'm a big proponent of the maxim, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." My 9650 is running so smoothly I have stayed with 5.0.0.699. It's not even the most recent OS 5 version, but it works perfectly. None of the upgrades brought new killer features I couldn't live without, so I left well enough alone.

Anyone having chronic problems with stability should upgrade. Nothing is worse than an unstable phone. I'm just waiting until less minor issues are reported before taking the plunge while my device is running like a top.
