Question Removing data from SDCard on uninstallation

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am trying to remove data from SDCard, that my application created, when my application is uninstalled. I came across CodeListener API and tried a small sample code (PFA) but it didn't work, i searched each and every forum but all say that it is possible none say that he has done it, and there is neither any working sample in blackberry documentation. Please can anyone help.

thanks

This thread should probably be in the developer section. Also please read the sticky thread on posting code to the forum.

I can think of two potential reasons:

1) the application context (UninstallationTest) may not be valid when the application is uninstalled. It is a UiApplication, is it running when you do the uninstall?

2) According to the documentaion of CodeModuleManager.addListener() the Application parameter is the application who's thread will process the notifications sent to the listener. It is not stated, but it may be that the OS will not deliver a notification to an application thread for which it is in the process of deleting code.

A quick way to test would be to make a background/autostart application that listens for the events. Then delete some other application (your current example for instance), then the background application, and see what happens.
