I think of myself as a moderately knowledgeable BB user. But I must be missing something obvious on this issue that continues to bug me...

I cannot get my specific contact alerts to work for SMS. It used to work fine but they just stopped working a couple months ago. Now I get my default tone for all SMS but the specific contact tones work for emails and calls. I like it when I have specific tones for specific contacts on texts.
I am using 5.0.0.586 which is a version after they supposedly fixed this problem. Only other thing that might remotely be affecting this is that I use BerryBuzz.

Doing a search, it doesn't seem like anyone else is having this problem. So maybe I am missing something obvious. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Remove the punctuation out of the contacts phone numbers and try the alert again.

Really appreciate it. While I had no punctuation, I had spaces within the contact's phone number. When I removed them.... Problem Solved!!
