Default Fast way to mass delete emails

Please Login to Remove!

The only way I know to delete a month of old emails is to hold down the shift, then scroll through pages and pages to highlight them, then do the delete.
If I have 1000 emails a month, then the scrolling down and highlighting can the several incredibly boring minutes.

Is there is a faster way to mass delete a large number of emails?

Thanks,
Neal Walters

Go into your mail folder, highlight the date, press the blackberry logo button, and choose delete prior. That will delete anything up to the date that is highlighted.

Ditto. This works on sms/mms and phone logs as well.

I have Curve 8330. Don't see the "Delete prior" option when I click the logo button.
I tried clicking "File" then navigating to the "inbox" folder. At that point no "delete" or "delete prior". If I click "file" I get a list of all emails in that folder, but again no "delete prior" on that menu.

So I'm just making sure I understand what you mean "go to your email 'folder'".

I don't see "delete prior" in the phone log either. I'm on release 4.5.0.186

In your messages list... where you see all of your email.
Click on a DATE and one of the options will be 'Delete Prior'.
Choosing that will delete all message prior to the data you have selected.

Or if you want to delete all messages, press T (takes you to the top, highlighting the date in the process) then press the Menu Key and select Delete Prior.

penguin3107 - great, thanks! However, it didn't prompt me to delete handheld vs "both", like the normal delete does. I'm trying it now. I'm assuming it won't delete the emails on my server side.

jsconyers - Thanks - I need to review the shortcuts more often. T=Top, B=Bottom, and in conjunction with penginuin3107's tip, I can use D=Previous Date and N=Next Date.

Correct. 'Delete Prior' will only delete from handheld.

If you want the prompt or to delete from the server, do the following...

Highlight the message, press and hold the shift key (should look like ^aA) and scroll over the other messages you wish to delete, then press the delete key. Not a quick as the delete prior, but it also works.

Nope - I actually wanted to make sure the server side did not delete. I'll handle that on regular PC. I just scared me that the normal prompt wasn't there. Thanks.
