Default BES 5 sp2 and MAPI

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I launched the SP2 update on my BES 5.0.1, everything went fine until the "mapi settings". I cannot go forward, I get a message saying that the app could not initialize the mapi client and asking to check that it is installed.

I have the mapi cdo installed, everything was working fine before.

Can anyone help?

Is there eventually a possibility to stop the installation and revert to sp1?

Thx in advance

David

Ok found out by myself, the issue was simply that the BESADMIN account on the exchange had the "hide from global address list" checked !

nice catch !
ran into same thing.

Makes you wonder how they coded this thing.

In the old days BES would simply not work if besadmin was hidden.
now it somehow stays running, it even reboots with besadmin hidden.

So it has to be cached in some way.

Now what happens if the besadmin changes, and BES starts up.. will it see the change or use the cache? I bet some testing was skipped @ Rim.

Very good catch. I do hate how all the RIM software has to be set up so specific, yet it won't tell you what is wrong if you aren't set up right. During our install, I had MAPI issues, and it turned out I had to go out and install the MAPI client and reinstall it on the server.
