Default I hate this phone - Update Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I just did a big system update, to v5.0.0732 (Bundle 1242). It's slower than before and constantly freezes for 30 seconds to a minute.

I want to change a speed dial entry. According to Help, I view the list, highlight the entry, press menu, and select "edit". But when I press menu, "edit" isnt an option.

I've got a notification for what looks like an IM, although it's yellow, when the prior notifications were blue. Regardless, i have no IMs.

The fully charged battery ran out completely overnight, something that has never happened before.

Hmmm thats funny, I have 732 running on my 9630 with absolutely no issues whatsoever. But I think your only option may be to downgrade your firmware. I know from experience 419 was a very stable build.

But as for the speed dial problem. If you go to the Phone, hit the menu button, you should have an "View Speed Dial" option. From there you will be able to view/edit you speed dial entries.

I figured the speed dial problem -- for some reason the one I want to edit is locked.
I'm going to try to re-do the upgrade tonight and see what happens.

Since when does OS 5 work on an 8830?

If you don't have an 8830, then please update your profile.

Unfortunately, ever since about .0.0.519 or thereabouts, the default speed dial keys (A, Q, W) cannot be changed from the factory settings. I used to be able to which was nice because two of my main contacts' names start with A & W.

Aside from those three, they can all be assigned however you like.
