Default Facebook on 9700 causes severe slow-down when opened.

Please Login to Remove!

I have the Facebook app installed on both my 9700 and 8300. On the 8300 it's super slow when I open facebook and am browsing inside of the app, but outside of the app, everything is smooth.

However, with my 9700, whenever I open the facebook app (via notification, or just clicking on the app to open), my phone suddenly becomes extremely slow. Even after I quit out of the facebook app, the phone is extremely slow for at least another half minute or more. My friendhas the Bold 1 with the facebook app and never had this issue before.

I've done battery pulls, resets, updated my OS, reinstalled Facebook, etc. But so far nothing works! Is this just something that happens on the 9700? Or is something wrong with my phone..?

What else do you have running at the same time? What about your theme? Is it stock, or from a third party?

If it were me -- well, if it were me I wouldn't be using facebook -- but if I were using facebook, I'd experiment. I'd do a security wipe and select the option to delete third-party apps. Then I would add just facebook and see what happens. Then I'd add my other applications, one at a time, and test.

ya, on mine its the same, and same with older blackberries too.

just use facebook mobile, i find that much easier to use because it loads up a single page rather than attempting to load up multiple streams. And that's probably why it goes slower and stalls stuff.

What's the answer? Exactly what is being used?

I've tried running just Facebook with nothing else installed or running and it's still extremely slow. It only happens when it has to load all the photos of my friends... but after that it goes back to normal.
And yes, I am using the Facebook app from RIM.
THe problem is, it has to reload all my friends' profile pics everytime I reopen the app. Or everytime my news feed has new friends that haven't had their photos loaded yet, it would take about at least a minute to load, even if it's only one person...
But the thing is, my friend has a Blackberry 9000 and she has the RIM app too and she has absolutely no slow down at all...

Did you test logging in with your profile on your friend's blackberry?
