I've just ordered a 8520 Curve with dataplan as an upgrade. As the phone has no 3G and my router at home is wired, will I be able to get online at all or will I have to buy a wireless router/access point?

I've no idea if BBs have other connectivity capabilities! Is there standard WAP which is non 3G?

If you have a BB data plan, you will have Internet, data and email on the device, using EDGE. If you want to use the WiFi, you will need to have a wireless access point. There is no way to use wired Internet on a BB.
