Default Blackberry Maps - Layers

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I was trying the latest Blackberry Maps (last time I tried it was 2 years ago) and I noticed an option to add layers.

When I search for Blackberry Maps Layers all I find is information about the Google Maps app.

Where can I find layers for Blackberry Maps?

Wirelessly posted

Layers is part of the feature set of the Google Maps product. As far as I'm aware it doesn't exist currently as a feature for BB maps.
Personally I think BB maps sucks badly so I haven't used it for aeons. There is great chance I'm wrong. Hope someone jumps in and comments about it to offer some insentive to try it again.

Well, I didn't like the Blackberry maps either. My complaints then were slow GPS, slow downloading of maps, slow adjustment of my movements. Just slow.

I tried it now and it's fast, much faster then google maps. Plus the internal GPS is much better then the Internet GPS google uses. So I wanted to give it a try again.

And then I found the option to show layers. It's in the menu. You have default layers, like old routes. But I can also choose to add a layer. It then asks for an URL and it says it needs a file type like .kml and .kmz

I'd like to give it a try again. Everyone deserves a second chance right?
