Default BES trial version re-installation

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I was using BES 4.1 for MDS Applications (evaluation version) which is expired recently and I want to create another BES setup. I've read on forums that BES re-installation is not required, only SRP key change is enough.
I've got valid SRP keys (again for evaluation license) and updated them in my setup (as mentioned in: View Document)
But I'm still not able to use my current setup, it is still giving error message (Your evaluation license is expired. As a result your Blackberry Server will not work) while starting the Blackberry Manager.

I've also validated the SRP authentication keys in Blackberry Server Configuration. Please let me know if something else is required???

I'm facing another problem, I've blackberry device which is connected to my previous BES installation. Do I've to connect my device again with the BES as I'm changing the SRP keys.
And if I want to detach my device from the BES then how can it be done???

Thanks,
Pulkit

It was showing error message because CAL Authentication Key was not added in the BES setup. Now setup is working properly but my device (which was earlier connected to the BES) is not seems to be connected with current BES setup.
I'm unable to use MDS browser on my device and unable to send message/change owner info from BES.

Please help me with this issue, I'm suppose to get it back in working condition asap. Please tell me if I have to again register the device with the BES.

Thanks,
Pulkit

And what about the previous activation ??
Do I have to make some change in the DB or in device for removing the previous activation details???

Thanks,

No. Just activate again like you did the first time.

Thanks for replying.

I've tried Enterprise Activation on my device but it failed.
I'm using BES 4.1 for MDS Applications, and I have created an email account on fastmail.fm (IMAP supported).
I have generated a new activation password for the handheld already present in the BES. And started the activation process on my device.
After starting the process I've noticed that the device have sent an email to the configured mail account and a screen with a message "Activating email id" appears on the screen. After some time an error message comes on screen which says: "The server is not responding. Please contact your System Administrator"

On server side I'm getting following error messages:

Try to connect the BB device to the BES via USB cable and assign the device to the user. This will do a "wired" activation. This way no activation message will be sent.

Thanks for replying.

I've successfully connected my device with the BES by wired activation process. But I'm unable to figure out the reason for failure of OTA activation, if you have any idea about it then please tell me...

Thanks,
Pulkit

The OTA activation on BES for MDS is a bit special as it needs an IMAP server. There is a good troubleshooting article for EA here:

Identifying and troubleshooting enterprise activation issues

but I don't know if it also applies to BES for MDS.
